Custom-made wedding dresses feature at Geelong’s own wedding fair – Head Over Heels.
Pearls & Roses Bridal was delighted to again be part of the Head Over Heels wedding fair held at The Pier on Geelong’s waterfront on Saturday. The fair aimed to bring wedding suppliers together in one location where bridal couples could come and meet the people behind their big day, book suppliers and get ideas and inspiration.
There were two runway shows, one at 3.30pm and one at 6.30pm, both aimed at showcasing local designers and wedding dresses in Geelong. A series of our custom-made wedding dresses featured in both runway shows, with eight gorgeous women showcasing the styles, including local model successes Sarah Czarnuch and Alex Hecker. From fitted lace to full skirts, we aimed to showcase a variety of styles to suit different brides.
There were strapless styles, love-heart necklines, revealing backs, faux fur coats, flowing trains, sheer lace sleeves (a la Kate Middleton’s wedding dress), sequins and intricate beading, fitted with a slight fishtail, embellished belts, a long-flowing veil and a short preppy one.
Business owner and principal dressmaker Karen Bourdamis said she likes to create dresses to flatter a woman’s individual shape, using beautiful fabrics and embellishments.
We also had a stall for the day, between 2pm and 8pm and enjoyed greeting brides-to-be, talking about dresses for themselves and their bridesmaids. It was another wonderful event thanks to Plan.it Roxie, Geelong Bride magazine and The Pier.
